The Counseling Services Department staff is committed to helping you achieve your educational and career goals. We realize that students come to us with different levels of preparation for the challenges of college, undecided about their goals and facing personal obstacles that may affect success.
Our counselors offer information and assist student with a variety of concerns including stress and time management, dealing with math and/or test taking anxiety to more serious concerns, such as grief issues, relationships as they affect academic performance.
We also provide referrals to outside agencies for issues such as substance abuse, AIDS awareness, and interpersonal relationships.
Our counselors are Masters degree professionals; however, they do not provide long-term therapy. Our students can come to us for crisis intervention and short term conflict resolution, but will be referred to external agencies or mental health care professionals for assistance in more serious and long-standing issues.
