Become a professional guardian with 40-hour course at Daytona State
DAYTONA BEACH, FL (Aug. 11, 2008) - The Institute for Health Services at Daytona State College will offer a 40-hour Professional Guardianship course beginning Sept. 13. The course is intended for those wanting to learn more about a career as a professional guardian, and meets the educational requirements for the State of Florida.
The course will be held on two weekends - Sept. 13 & 14, and Sept. 27 & 28. Classes meet at 8 a.m. and continue until 6 p.m. with a one-hour break for lunch. Cost for the course is $225 and includes a 250 page notebook with teaching materials and Florida State statutes pertaining to guardianship. Classes will be held in Bldg. 320, Rm. 546, located at 1200 W. International Speedway Boulevard, Daytona Beach.
The instructor for the Professional Guardianship course is Jane A. Pronovost, a professional guardian with more than 20 years of experience. A member of the National Guardianship Association, Pronovost also serves on the Board of Directors of the Florida State Guardianship Association and is President of the Central Florida Chapter of FSGA.
