Individual softball showcase scheduled for Sept. 7 at Daytona State
DAYTONA BEACH, FL (Aug. 22, 2008) - Daytona State College, in conjunction with the National Scouting Report, will host a second Individual Softball Showcase on Sunday, Sept. 7, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. The Showcase is an opportunity for college-bound student athletes to have personal evaluations made of their Technique, Overhand Throw Speed (radar gun), Pop to Pop Times for catchers, Pitcher’s Speed, Home to First Speed, Hitting, and Bunting. Evaluations will be made available to all college softball coaches nationwide.
"We partnered with NSR last year and have hosted our own showcases in previous years to assess local talent to join the Lady Falcons," commented Sabrina Manhart, Daytona State's head softball coach. "The two highest rated students from this showcase will receive automatic entry into the National Scouting Report National Showcase tournament that's scheduled for Oct. 22-26 in Birmingham, AL."
Pre-registration and pre-payment is required. Register before Sept. 1 and the cost to participate is only $75, cost to register after Sept. 1 will be $100.
The event will be held at Daytona State College's Softball Facilities located on the Daytona Beach Campus on Willis Avenue.
