DAYTONA BEACH, FL (Aug. 25, 2008) - Fourteen Daytona State College interior design students recently earned associate level designations by the Window Fashion Certified Professionals Program (WFCP), the only national certification program in the window-fashions industry.
“We are very proud of our students,” said Daytona State Interior Design program Chair Bethany Creamer. Our partnership with WFCP is a great asset because it helps us to elevate our curriculum as well as the marketability of our graduates.”
Students receiving the certification were:
Gloria Burgos-Cotro, Deltona; Chiara Carter, St. Augustine; Kristine Detruit, Holly Hill; Adrienne Glitniak, S. Daytona; Deana Hastreiter, Deland; Michell Kenton, S. The WFCP test is offered through Daytona State’s Practical Interior Applications course, which focuses heavily on windows and window treatments. At the end of the semester, students are administered the WFCP test, and those who pass get the opportunity to use the appellation of "WFCP Associate" to recognize their knowledge and skills in window fashions.
Founded in 1991, the WFCP program is offered by Grace McNamara Inc., publisher of Window Fashions Magazine, a trade publication focused on the professional education of its members. The WFCP allows members to become certified at various levels as they pass certification exams and complete certification projects.
