New students invited to register for class and chance to win $500 scholarship
DAYTONA BEACH, FL (Nov. 14, 2008) - Daytona State College has made registration for the Spring Semester as simple as a visit to one of three campuses. Attend a New Student Enrollment Day event to complete everything from admission to registration and have a chance at winning a $500 scholarship provided by the Daytona State Foundation.
Simply complete a Daytona State application (apply online or download the application) meet with an Admissions Advisor and Financial Aid Counselor, take an assessment test (if applicable), meet with an Academic Advisor, and then register for Spring classes while they're still available. Classes start Tuesday, Jan. 20, 2009.
The New Student Enrollment Day events will be held as follows:
Saturday, Dec. 6, registration 9 - 11 a.m., enrollment 9 a.m. - 1 p.m.
Daytona Beach Campus
Bldg. 100, Atrium
1200 W. Int'l Speedway Blvd., Daytona Beach
Tuesday, Dec. 9, registration 3:30 - 6 p.m., enrollment 3:30 - 8 p.m.
DeLand Campus
Bldg. 7, Rm. 104
1155 County Road 4139, DeLand
Thursday, Dec. 11, registration 3:30 - 6 p.m., enrollment 3:30 - 8 p.m.
Deltona Campus
Fathi Hall
2351 Providence Blvd., Deltona
The Daytona State Financial Aid Office will be open to assist with college education financing and will provide assistance to complete the financial aid applications (FAFSA).
Parents whose children are making the transition from high school to the college environment can take advantage of a special orientation session to learn important information about what to expect.
Academic Advisors will also be available to talk about unique academic programs such as Honors College and Learning Communities which includes Linked Classes and Daytona States award winning QUANTA program.
Each New Student Enrollment Day event will culminate with a free drawing for a $500 scholarship presented by the Daytona State Foundation.
