Three Sisters auditions set for Sept. 3 and 4
DAYTONA BEACH, FL (Aug. 22, 2008) - The School of Music, Entertainment and Art at Daytona State College announces open auditions for “Three Sisters,” to be held Wednesday, Sept. 3 and Thursday, Sept. 4 at 6 p.m. both days, in the J. M. Goddard Center (Bldg. 230), Rm. 116 located at 1200 W. International Speedway Boulevard.
Actors should be prepared to read for a specific character. All roles are open and consist of five female and eight male, with particular emphasis for experienced actors for mature female and mature male roles. Call-backs with read-through are scheduled for Friday, Sept. 5 at 6 p.m. Rehearsals begin Monday, Sept. 22.
“Three Sisters” was written by Anton Chekhov and was first performed at the Moscow Art Theater in 1901. The play describes the lives and aspirations of the Prozorov family, the three sisters (Olga, Masha, and Irina) and their brother Andrei.
Evening performances begin Tuesday, Oct. 28 and will be directed by Daytona State’s Paul Carbonell, theater instructor.
